First Phase of California Gables Opens in Palmdale

California Gables opens today in Palmdale with a first phase of 24 three- and four-bedroom single-family houses priced from $79,990 to $99,990.
The 142-unit Kaufman & Broad development takes its name from the design of the houses, which feature gables, front bay windows and cathedral ceilings. Standard features include air conditioning, wood-burning fireplaces, tile roofs, front-yard landscaping and attached two-car garages.
First move-ins are scheduled for January. Available financing plans include 10.35%, 30-year fixed-rate bond financing, 11 7/8%, 30-year fixed-rate conventional loans and FHA and VA financing.
Three one- and two-story plans with 1,095 to 1,590 square feet of living area are offered. Models decorated by Carole Eichen Interiors are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 1935 Gable View, near East 20th Street and Avenue S, reached from the Avenue S exit of the Antelope Valley Freeway.
