Effort to Find a Missing Man

My brother-in-law, Dreyfus (Dick) Gardner, became confused and wandered from his home in San Juan Capistrano this past week. Family members gathered from far and near.
In the next few hectic days the news media became aware of the desperate search. Their coverage prompted assistance from our entire community--friends and strangers alike. Many joined to scour the neighborhoods and fields by vehicle, horseback and on foot. It was too late when he was found last Tuesday.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department acted promptly with manpower and equipment to organize the effort.
The family of Dreyfus Gardner wishes to express our gratitude to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and our fellow townspeople who assisted by their efforts and good wishes. His safe return was not meant to be but these acts will never be forgotten by us. ROBERT LOWE
