Dear Santa

I returned the Wednesday night after John Riley’s piece on me (Oct. 6), and there were more than 500 letters waiting from people who had read the story; many were from children, and many from children now disguised as adults. I will answer them all, but I do need stamps, and there are a few who will not hear from me because they forgot to put a return address in their letter. Whether you hear from me or not, I’m looking out for you all the time, so be good, and don’t forget to leave me a cookie and some milk.
