Swiss Coaching, Too

Enjoyed your feature by Susan Bayer Ward on horse-drawn coach tours through Bavarian villages (Oct. 27). An abbreviated carriage ride also can be enjoyed by visitors staying in Baden, Switzerland, a popular spa resort about 15 minutes from Zurich by train. Mr. Schmid will pick you up at your hotel and take you to his lovely farm, where you meet a beautiful horse-drawn carriage, complete with a warm white wool blanket and pretty flower arrangements. The three- to four-hour trip takes you to enchanting Regensberg, home of Lotte Gunthart’s famous Rose Museum and Krone restaurant. He stops in pretty villages for a cup of Swiss hot chocolate and pastries. The cost for four passengers for the afternoon is around $120. The Baden Tourist Office, Baden CH 5400, Switzerland, handles reservations.
