FALL SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS : Thousand Oaks Holds On to Beat Agoura in Girls Tennis Playoffs

Thousand Oaks High advanced to Tuesday’s third round of the Southern Section girls tennis playoffs, defeating Agoura on Saturday, 10-8.
Thousand Oaks was paced by Rachel Collins, who won all three of her matches. Kirsten Smith went 2-1 for the Lancers.
In doubles, Thousand Oaks’ Constance McKenna and Diane Borck won all three matches against Agoura’s Elise Nakawatase and Michelle Selleck, Nikki Watkinson and Danielle Trouville, and Brigitte Hackley and Heather Louis. The Thousand Oaks team of Kirsten Thorstenson and Sharon Wolfe won two of three matches. Melodee Yee and Julie Baroway lost all three matches to the Agoura teams.
Thousand Oaks’ opponent Tuesday has not been determined.
The Louisville girls tennis team beat South Hills, 11-7, and will advance to the third round of the Southern Section 2-A playoffs Tuesday against La Quinta.
Louisville’s singles players--Julie Mott, Robyn Brown and Lauralyn McCarthy--won every set to help improve Louisville’s record to 14-6 overall.
