New York developer Donald Trump succeeded in temporarily blocking the sale of the Golden Nugget casino-hotel to Bally Manufacturing Corp., a deal that Trump’s attorney said was designed to prevent Trump from taking over Bally. The latest development ended in the chambers of two federal court judges, with Trump and Bally attorneys agreeing that Bally would not pursue the Golden Nugget deal and Trump would not acquire any additional Bally stock until a preliminary hearing Feb. 4.
