El Segundo-based Computer Sciences Corp. reported a 56% gain in net earnings and a 26% increase in revenue for its 13-week fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 26. The strong third-quarter results extended across the company’s operations, continuing trends established over the last two years, a spokesman said. Revenue from the company’s largest market, the federal government, was up 19% over the year-earlier quarter, fueled in part by several large contracts that the company won over the last 18 months. Revenue from two other major markets--commercial clients and state and local governments--both increased by more than 50% from third-quarter volumes a year ago.
