UCI Doubles Team Advances to 2nd Round

Uma Rao and Kathy Rose of UC Irvine advanced to the second round in doubles Tuesday at the Women’s Intercollegiate Invitational tennis tournament at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades.
Rao and Rose defeated Susan Campbell and Emily Cates of Rice University, 6-3, 6-0.
“They played great,” said Anteater Coach Doreen Irish. “It was the best doubles I’ve ever seen them play.”
Rao and Rose play Evelyn Barrable and Jana Klepac of Trinity University Thursday morning.
