Junior forward Mike Yoest scored a career-high 37 points Tuesday night to lead Loyola Marymount to a 100-95 victory over Chapman College in a nonconference college basketball game at Loyola.
Chapman, after trailing by 12 with 15 minutes remaining, rallied to tie the score at 80-80 on a jump shot by David Roth with 7:53 remaining. A three-point basket by guard Jon Samuelson gave Chapman its only lead of the second half, 85-82, with 5:35 remaining.
Yoest then hit two jumpers to key a 12-point Loyola run that made the score 94-85 with 1:30 to play and Chapman never recovered.
