Georgeson, Butler Named Co-MVPs of Sunset League

Marina High School center Mark Georgeson and Ocean View forward Ricky Butler were named co-most valuable players in the Sunset League in a vote of the league’s boys’ basketball coaches.
Georgeson, who has signed with the University of Kentucky, averaged 16.5 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Butler, who signed with the University of Kansas, averaged 12.8 rebounds and shot 55% from the field.
Marina Coach Steve Popovich, who led the Vikings to the league title, was named the coach of the year.
