Holt-Goodman, Thousand Oaks Will Open Play Today, Monday

The 17th annual Holt-Goodman high school baseball tournament begins today at several sites in the Valley area, while the Thousand Oaks tournament gets under way Monday at Thousand Oaks, Westlake and Agoura high schools.
The 16-team, double-elimination Holt-Goodman tournament opens with all teams playing doubleheaders starting at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Today’s schedule:
11 a.m.--Venice at Sylmar, San Pedro at San Fernando. Winners play at San Fernando and the losers play at Sylmar.
Westchester at Poly, Hart at Monroe. Winners play at Monroe, losers play at Poly.
Franklin at Granada Hills, Arcadia at Birmingham. Winners play at Birmingham, losers play at Granada Hills.
Grant at Cleveland, North Hollywood at Chatsworth. Winners play at Chatsworth, losers play at Cleveland.
The tournament resumes Monday, with the championship game Tuesday at Birmingham High at 2:30 p.m.
The 16-team Thousand Oaks tournament schedule:
9 a.m. at Thousand Oaks--Thousand Oaks vs. Reseda at Varsity field; Camarillo vs. Canyon at JV field; Dos Pueblos vs. L.A. Baptist at freshman field. 9 a.m. at Westlake--Westlake vs. Montclair Prep at Varsity field; Agoura vs. Canoga Park at Agoura.
Noon at Thousand Oaks--El Camino Real vs. Santa Paula at Varsity field; Diamond Bar vs. Calabasas at JV field; Second round game at Thousand Oaks freshman field and Westlake Varsity field.
3 p.m. at Thousand Oaks--Lompoc and Channel Islands at Varsity field; Second round games at JV and freshman fields.
All games Tuesday (9) and Wednesday (4) are at Thousand Oaks.
