Richard C. Hottelet, a former CBS news correspondent, announced that he is resigning as press adviser to the U.S. Mission to the United Nations because of “differences of view” with Ambassador Vernon A. Walters. Hottelet said his resignation, which takes effect June 21, was prompted by a meeting Thursday with Walters in which the ambassador told him that he wanted to reorganize the information section and “get greater publicity.” Hottelet, 69, joined the U.N. mission in October, 1985, after a 41-year career at CBS.
