Sundevil Track Meet Today at Mt. Carmel

Four high school athletes who established national bests in their events at last Saturday’s Arcadia Invitational will compete today at the Sundevil Invitational at Mount Carmel High School.
Vista High School’s Kira Jorgensen, who established national bests in the 1,600 meters (4:51.03) and the 3,200 (10:24.23) will compete today in the 800 and 1,600 meters.
Also competing will be Mount Miguel’s Jackie Anderson, whose 41-0 mark in the triple jump at the Arcadia is a national best and broke her own county record of 39-11.
Pole vaulter Pat Alduenda of Ramona will be trying to better his height of 16-0, which is the second best mark in the state and sixth best in the nation.
Kamy Keshimiri of Reno (Nev.) High School broke his own national high school record in the discus with a toss of 224-3. The stadium record at Mount Carmel is 196-7.
Today’s meet starts at 12:45.
