A Yugoslav convicted in a 1976 transatlantic hijacking was recaptured as he sat on a porch outside a store in Milford, Pa., ending a nationwide manhunt a day after he escaped prison, authorities said. Zvonko Busic, 41, a Croatian nationalist, was discovered missing Friday when a dummy was found in his cell at the Otisville (N.Y.) Correctional Facility, a prison spokesman said. Busic was serving a life sentence for air piracy resulting in a police officer’s death. Busic reportedly said he escaped because he was not given a parole review after serving 10 years. He is eligible for parole in 2006.
