The Chicago Board of Trade thus became the only major U.S. exchange to hold an evening trading session. “April 30 is fading on LaSalle Street, but the May 1 business day is well under way in Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo,” CBOT Chairman Karsten Mahlmann told thousands of traders and spectators who jammed the trading pits and viewing gallery.
