A Lake View Terrace man and his 10-year-old son who had been reported missing in the Angeles National Forest Sunday were found safe two hours later at a campground where the pair had spent the night with friends, deputies said.
Rick Ramirez, 39, and his son, Raymond, went on a hike Saturday and decided to join friends overnight at the Valley Forge campground, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Joseph Reid said.
Ramirez told sheriff’s search-and-rescue team workers that he tried to call his wife, who reported him missing, but the public telephone at the nearby Red Box ranger station was out of order, Reid said.
