‘Automatic Teller Rapist’ Guilty

A man accused of being the “Automatic Teller Rapist” who sexually attacked women and forced them to withdraw money from automatic teller machines was convicted today of 62 sex charges, stemming from assaults on 12 women in the San Fernando Valley.
A Los Angeles Superior Court jury deliberated 4 1/2 days before finding David Keith Lewis, 28, guilty of raping 6 women, sexually assaulting 5 others and kidnaping a 12th in December, 1984, and January, 1985. Lewis, who was caught after he was videotaped at an automatic teller machine as he tried to use a stolen card, faces more than 200 years in prison.
