Granite Hills Keeps Winning, Still Ranked No. 1 in County Baseball Poll

SAN DIEGO — Granite Hills High School extended its winning streak to 10 games with a victory last week and maintained the No. 1-ranking in The Times’ San Diego County baseball poll. Granite Hills (16-3) leads Grossmont, Santana and El Capitan by 1 1/2 games in the Grossmont League.
Mt. Carmel, ranked No. 2, kept its one-game lead over Orange Glen in the Palomar League thanks to a 15-0 victory over Fallbrook, previously ranked sixth. Orange Glen is No. 3.
University of San Diego High is this week’s highest ranked section 2-A team with a 15-4 record. USDHS is tied for first place in the City Western League with Clairemont, one game ahead of defending 2-A champion Mission Bay.
