U.S. Action Against Kurt Waldheim
I welcomed the exclusion of Kurt Waldheim from entering the United States for his Nazi activities during World War II. But the decision by Atty. Gen. Meese and the Justice Department came during Holocaust Rememberance Week, solemnizing the extermination of 6 million Jews by the Nazis. The timing of the judgment to bar Waldheim struck me as hollow grandstanding by the Reagan Administration.
Waldheim should not worry that he cannot enter the United States. If he wants to meet with President Reagan, I understand there is a nice, quiet cemetery in Bitburg, West Germany, where they can confer.
