Anne Machamer; Opera Guild Head

Anne Eagle Machamer, opera producer and stage director who for 35 years was executive director of the Opera Guild of Southern California, died Monday of cancer at her home in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles.
Mrs. Machamer, 61, was a singer and stage director who formed her own company, the Pacific West Coast Opera, which toured the Western states for many years. As director of the guild, the performing arm of the Opera Guild of Southern California, she was the longtime assistant to the late Carl Ebert.
