Litton Industries agreed to acquire a Gould unit.

Beverly Hills-based Litton said it signed a letter of intent to purchase Gould’s Microwave Products Division in San Jose. The purchase of the division from Gould, based in Rolling Meadows, Ill., is subject to a final agreement between the companies and regulatory approval. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Gould’s Microwave Products Division employs about 300 people and designs, develops and manufactures gallium arsenide semiconductor products, microwave amplifiers and subsystems for defense products.
