Countywide : Supervisors Proclaim ‘Hire a Youth Week’
- Share via
The Board of Supervisors has proclaimed this week “Hire a Youth Week” and asked all county residents to develop job opportunities for young people.
The Orange County Private Industry Council has information on financial incentives available to employers who provide work experience to youths. More information is available on the Summer Hire-the-Youth program by contacting the council in Santa Ana.
By hiring young people, “everyone involved wins,” said the council vice chairman, Dave Kelley. “The employer wins financially and productively. The young person wins by learning a job skill as well as receiving a paycheck. The community wins by getting more taxpayers on the rolls.”
