A man wearing a ski mask stole more than $50,000 from a Melrose Avenue restaurant after displaying a handgun and ordering employees to lie face-down on the floor, Los Angeles County sheriffs deputies reported. According to Deputy Mike Santander, the man burst into a rear office at Silvio’s restaurant, in the 8400 block of Melrose in West Hollywood, and ordered employees to give him the contents of an open safe. Witnesses told deputies that the man then ran from the restaurant to a car parked nearby that was driven by an accomplice.
