Orange County Prep : Playoffs Roundup : Edison Sweeps to Volleyball Win

Junior middle blocker Brian Boone had 11 kills and 6 blocks to lead Edison High School over Torrance, 15-8, 15-4, 15-8, in a Southern Section 4-A wild-card volleyball match at Edison.
Edison, 11-6 and the third-place team in the Sunset League, plays at MiraCosta in the first round Thursday night.
In other 4-A wild-card volleyball play:
Capistrano Valley 3, Woodbridge 1--Outside hitters Kurt Riedl and Shaun Moore led the Cougars over the Warriors, 15-12, 14-16, 18-16, 15-9, in a match that lasted 2 hours 15 minutes at Woodbridge. Junior middle blocker Adam Keefe had 31 kills for Woodbridge (13-2).
Irvine 3, Laguna Hills 0--The Vaqueros defeated Laguna Beach, 15-6, 15-9, 15-7, at Irvine.
In Southern Section 4-A wild-card badminton playoffs:
Westminster 12, La Quinta 7--The Lions (7-6), the No. 3 team from the Sunset League, advance to play at Buena Park Thursday. La Qunita ends the season 9-4.
