Saddleback Gets 1st Baseball Title

With a little help from University High School, Saddleback clinched its first baseball title in the school’s 20-year history Tuesday with a 14-3 victory over Estancia at Saddleback.

University upset Tustin, 6-4, to allow Saddleback to clinch the Sea View League title with one game left.

George Saldana was 2 for 3 with four RBIs, Danny Ontiveros was 2 for 2, with his second home run, Sean Therien was 2 for 4 and scored three runs and Chris Silva was 2 for 4 with two RBIs for Saddleback (11-3, 17-7). Victor Rossano (8-3) got the victory. Estancia is 5-9, 8-16.
