A cystic fibrosis sufferer who underwent a heart-lung transplant after apparently becoming the first living person to donate his own heart was taken off a respirator, doctors at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore said. Clinton House, 28, was expected to begin riding an exercise bicycle today, just three days after the surgery. He was listed in critical condition. The recipient of House’s heart, John Couch, 38, of Yardley, Pa., was taken off his respirator earlier in the day.
