CODY, Wyo. — Two men being sought in the slaying of a ranch hand surrendered Thursday after slipping through a dragnet of about 60 law enforcement officers, authorities said.
Charles Smith, 38, and Matt Wilder, 19, eluded the dragnet in a remote area of Shoshone National Forest and surrendered to officials in Powell, 45 miles east of the search area, Park County Sheriff’s Deputy Kirk Waggoner said.
The men were wanted in connection with the slaying last week of William Duplantis, 26, outside of Pinedale, which is about 120 miles southwest of Cody.
