The government dismissed its case against David Baskett of Santa Maria, one of four California men being tried on charges of illegally selling Lockheed cargo planes to Libya. Jack Arseneault, Baskett’s attorney, said the action, which came after three weeks of trial in Atlanta federal court, was not the result of plea bargaining. “There was no deal, no plea.” Arseneault said. “They just dismissed the charges.” Assistant U.S. Atty. Richard Kuniansky would not comment.
