An architectural firm has been hired to design a proposed expansion of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum to the 65,000 seating capacity needed for an NFL franchise.
The proposed stadium expansion is expected to cost between $20 million and $30 million and is supposed to increase the Coliseum’s chances of attracting an NFL franchise to replace the Raiders.
The expansion would include additional seats, press boxes, restrooms, concession stands and training facilities. The stadium has a current football seating capacity of about 53,000.
