Fullerton : Missing Woman Found at Emergency Shelter
- Share via
A woman whom police described as having mental disorders and who had been missing from her home in Fullerton for more than a week was located Monday in a Santa Monica emergency shelter, where she had been living for five days.
Fullerton police said relatives went to the shelter late Monday and identified 28-year-old Abigail Cleopatrick Cummins. She apparently walked away from her house May 7.
Police issued a public appeal for information, and a worker at Ocean Park Community Center in Santa Monica heard the appeal on the radio. The description fit a woman who had been taken into the center’s emergency shelter, and the worker phoned police. A police spokeswoman said Cummins was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for observation.
Police said they don’t know how the woman got to Santa Monica.
