A very important question has not yet been asked by the House-Senate panel investigating the Iran- contra scandal: What have countries such as Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and Brunei been promised by the Reagan Administration in return for their contributions to the contras?
Large contributions to political candidates in this country are not made without expectation of substantial favors in return. We must assume that nations that were hit up for contra money are at least as shrewd as our own big political contributors.
