San Clemente’s Mills Wins Gymnastics Title

Dena Mills of San Clemente High School, finishing first in the vault and third in both the uneven bars and floor exercise, won the Southern Section all-around gymnastics championship Saturday at Dana Hills High School.
Mills, who scored 36.9 points overall and 9.3 in the vault, edged Tracy Dolan of Los Alamitos, who had 36.2. Mori Orme of Rolling Hills scored 36.1 to finish third.
Orme won on the balance beam with a 9.3. Chris DeGregory of Los Alamitos, who finished fourth overall at 36.05, won the floor exercise with a score of 9.5.
Tracy Valko of Brea Olinda was fifth overall at 36.0. Carrie Bourne of Anaheim Savanna was the winner in the uneven bars with a score of 9.4.
