Contracts for Tape Drives Won by Archive Corp.

Archive Corp. of Costa Mesa said it has received $10 million worth of contracts for its streaming-cartridge tape drives, which are used as back-up computer data storage devices.

The contracts include a $6-million agreement with Sun Microsystems Inc. of Mountain View, Calif., to provide Archive’s Scorpion line of tape drives for installation in Sun work station computers for a period of two years.

The remaining contracts are with unidentified computer manufacturers in the United States, Canada and Singapore.
