Producer Gale Anne Hurd will be honored at a reception this evening for her part in helping finance the sixth cycle of the American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women. The workshop will resume in December after a two-year hiatus. Hurd, the producer of “Aliens,” donated $60,000 and helped raise another $60,000. Other major funders include the Bohen Foundation, Ted Field-Interscope, the Hunt Foundation, International Creative Management, Marsha Mason, Michael Nesmith and the Mary Pickford Foundation.
