Reliance Group Holdings posted a sharp rise in income to $41.3 million in the second quarter from $7.8 million a year ago. The New York-based company credited improvement in the underwriting results in property and casualty subsidiaries and the sales of single premium life insurance and annuity products. Net investment income increased 23%, the company said.
