Westcorp’s Earnings Drop to $2.2 Million in Quarter

A somewhat sluggish consumer economy led Westcorp, the holding company for Western Financial Savings Bank in Orange, to post a lower second-quarter net income of $2.2 million, compared with $2.8 million earned in last year’s second quarter.
For the first six months, the company earned $5.6 million, down slightly from the $5.7 million earned in the same period last year.
