Anaheim : Bicyclist, 33, Collides With Pickup, Is Killed

An Anaheim man died Tuesday from injuries suffered when he rode his bicycle through a red light and struck a pickup truck, police said.
Bruce Ellen Smith, 33, was riding southbound on East Street on the side of the road against traffic at about 6:30 a.m. Monday. Police said he rode through a red light at the La Palma Avenue intersection and sideswiped a westbound pickup truck driven by Everett Leroy Allen, 62, of Costa Mesa.
Smith was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
