SAN DIEGO — Skipper Steve Gould and crewman Greg Sieck of San Francisco guided their two-man keel boat to a first-place finish in their last race Tuesday to remain in the lead of the Star class of the 1987 Olympic Pre-Trials Regatta at the San Diego Yacht Club. Three of the event’s seven races have been completed since Monday.
In the Soling class, John Kostecki and his crew of Bob Billingham and Will Bayless finished first and second in Tuesday’s races to lead after two days.
The San Diego event is a preparatory regatta for the pre-Olympic Regatta to be held at Pusan, Korea, in late September.
The seven-race event continues through Friday.
