Six gunmen ambushed a jeep carrying five soldiers of the U.N. peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon, killing one Nepalese soldier and wounding three. The attack took place in the village of Kafra, seven miles north of the Israeli border, a spokesman for the U.N. Interim force in Lebanon said. Since 1978 when the U.N. force was sent to southern Lebanon, 146 of its soldiers have been killed or died in accidents. The U.N. official was unable to identify the attackers in the latest incident.
