Good Australia Tip
My brothers and I and their wives just returned from a wonderful trip to the South Pacific. We followed up Jerry Hulse’s tip in his Aug. 16 column while we were in Melbourne. The accommodation for rent to American tourists is fully up to the description given in the tip, but what was exceptional was the hospitality.
We had flown in from Auckland and were greeted with the traditional Australian leg of lamb dinner, followed by a homemade Pavlova dessert, which is the Down Under specialty and which is not to be missed. We also had a barbecue on a bank of the Yarra River with lamb chops, steak and shrimp purchased that morning at Queen Victoria Market.
Jan Harmon is a most friendly person and made our stay in Melbourne an unforgettable one. She can be contacted at 20 Collins St., Suite 1, Melbourne 3000, Australia.
