A Tearful Pat Schroeder

The picture of Rep. Pat Schroeder (D-Colo.) tearfully clinging to her husband (Part I, Sept. 29) did little more than disgust me. All I can say is thank goodness she didn’t run and get elected. I could see her now crying her eyes out because the national budget won’t balance or sobbing because the Soviets won’t cooperate with us at the arms talks. And we thought Jimmy Carter was a wimp! Give me a presidential candidate, regardless of gender, who can deal with pitfalls without falling apart. The biggest favor Schroeder did for women was choosing not to run. The National Organization for Women is probably too narrow minded to realize that.
