ITT’s income rose 67% to $210 million in the third quarter. The New York-based conglomerate credited gains at a number of its units, including Hartford insurance, which posted increases in its domestic casualty business and enjoyed a $20-million tax benefit; Sheraton hotels, which showed improvement in North American operations, and ITT Financial, with its improved consumer finance business. Revenue was up 13% to $14.3 billion.
