A Texas truck driver has confessed to a 1982 Northern California murder that had baffled investigators until he called last week to ask about the slaying, officials said. Mark Anthony Garrison, 26, of Grand Prairie, phoned authorities in Daly City to inquire about the slaying in which the throat of Elliot Dolinka, a 15-year-old gas station attendant, was slashed in an $80 robbery, police said.
