Local News in Brief : Cable TV Franchise Given

Rolling Hills Estates has awarded a non-exclusive 10-year franchise for cable television service to Times Mirror Cable Television of Palos Verdes Peninsula.
The agreement was adopted by the City Council on Tuesday in the form of an ordinance, which will take effect in 30 days.
According to city staff, construction of the new system is expected to take between six months and one year.
