False Fire Warning Sends Jetliner Back to Airport

PORTLAND, Ore. — A United Airlines DC-8 jetliner with 137 people aboard on a flight to Denver was forced to return to Portland Wednesday when an apparently faulty warning light indicated a fire in one of its four engines, an airline official said.
