Newport Harbor Plays Woodbridge in Volleyball

Newport Harbor High School will play Woodbridge at Edison High at 7:30 tonight in the semifinals of the Southern Section 5-A girls’ volleyball playoffs.
Newport Harbor (18-0) is the playoff’s No. 1 seed and is led by middle blocker Jenny Evans, the Sea View League player of the year.
The Sailors have received other strong performances at the net. Middle blocker Anastasia Arnold had 13 kills and 6 blocks in the Sailors’ 15-6, 15-6, 15-3 victory over Culver City in the quarterfinals.
Woodbridge (13-3), which defeated Newport Harbor last season in the quarterfinals, defeated St. Joseph, 15-4, 7-15, 15-8, 15-8, in the quarterfinals.
In the other 5-A semifinal, Corona del Mar (20-2) will play defending champion Mira Costa at Redondo High at 7:30.
In 4-A playoffs, Irvine (15-2) will play Marymount at Woodbridge at 7:30.
In tennis, Corona del Mar (19-2-1) will play at Westlake in one 4-A semifinal. Laguna Hills (21-0) will play at Agoura in a 3-A semifinal. And Valencia (18-5) will play at San Luis Obispo in a 2-A semifinal.
