Local News in Brief : Tustin : Information Meeting Scheduled for Parents
- Share via
An informational meeting for parents on health and sex education courses to be offered by the Tustin Unified School District will be held Tuesday.
No new courses have been added to the curriculum, according to a district spokesman. But the school district has scheduled the meeting so that parents will be better able to decide whether they want their children to participate in this optional, and voluntary, program.
During the 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. meeting at Columbus Tustin Middle School, 17952 Beneta Way, elementary and middle school teachers will discuss how and where instructional materials on human growth and development, along with sexually transmitted diseases, will be taught.
In the Tustin school district, human growth and development is taught in grades five to seven, with instruction in sexually transmitted diseases being offered in grade seven.
Additional information is available by calling (714) 730-7322.
