Students Collect Food for Needy

Students at Schurr High School in Montebello get into the holiday spirit of giving by collecting canned foods for distribution to needy families in the Montebello Unified School District. The annual project is sponsored by Interact, a campus service club, and supported by faculty and school staff members, at right, who helped with sorting and distribution plans. The food was supplemented by 300 turkey gift certificates donated by Gibraltar Savings in Montebello. Student overseeing basket collection below is Ha Nguyen, 15.
