A man who allegedly sexually assaulted a Brea woman and stole her car was in custody this morning after leading police on a 3 1/2-hour chase on foot through La Habra.
Police said that Johnnie Ray Fraijo, 24, of La Habra sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman he knew early Saturday morning and then stole her car. The woman immediately reported the incident, but police did not locate Fraijo until Sunday evening, when Brea Police Detective Jon Strash spotted him at a phone booth at Whittier and Harbor Boulevards in La Habra about 5:45 p.m. He apparently was calling the woman he assaulted, Strash said.
Fraijo fled and led as many as 20 officers--including an Anaheim Police Department helicopter--on a chase through residential neighborhoods in La Habra.
Fraijo is being held on $250,000 bail at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of sexual assault, auto theft and resisting arrest.
