Lester D. Gordon Jr., a former backup for two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin at Ohio State, was shot to death by police in New Rochelle, N.Y., after he pulled out a toy gun and pointed it at them.
According to police, Gordon, 32, was shot at 1:45 p.m. Sunday as he stood in a field, where police went after receiving a report of a man walking in the neighborhood carrying a machine gun.
